Human estrangement is so serious that it could interfere with our worship.
Jesus instructed us the way to dealing with conflicts that is to apologize eagerly,quickly, aggressively and personally.
Take the initiative and seek reconciliation as soon as possible.

Unfailing Promise

Every promise of God comes from his personal guarantee.
When he promises, fulfillment is guaranteed no matter how long it takes.
However, unfulfilled promises could destroy our faith and patience.
Time goes by, but there is still no sign of God’s grace and our trouble remains.
We become disappointed, frustrated, anxious and naturally assume that God must have forgotten his words.
When we feel this way, think about Caleb , who kept faith in God’s promise for 45 years and stood firm on it (Joshua14:6-12).
Although he was already 85 years old and the Promised Land still had giants, he believed that God would carry out his commitment because he is a faithful God, and always keeps his words.

When we have doubt in God’s promise, pray for faith and patience.
Don’t let our age, physical condition and difficulties interfere with our faith.
God’s promise never fails.

Don’t say “Self-help”

People encourage the notion of “self-help” which means we can do everything by ourselves and we can control our fate.
But is it true?
We all wish ourselves to be the captain of our lives and depend on none.
In this way, we feel that we are strong and independent and that feels great, doesn’t it?
However, the fact is we are powerless, foolish and know little about our fate.
We need God to be our guide, showing us the way out of trouble and difficulties.
We need him to be our captain, leading us to the end of our lives peacefully.
We need Jesus to be our master, teaching us what is right and wrong.
When we are in temptation and trials, we need the Holy Spirit to give us power to overcome them.
We can never do this on our own without God’s help.
The fact is, we require the protection of Jesus, his guidance,consultation, comfort and help.
Let’s admit our powerlessness and depend on him.
Bring our troubles and worries to his presence and rely on his utmost power.
Don’t say “Self-help” but ” Jesus helps!”

All the way to the top of Mount Sini (I)

To me, Mount Sini is the mountain that I am eager to climb.
In the Old Testament, you can say it is a ” holy mountain.”
Because God ever came down on it and called Moses up to the hilltop of Mount Sini to receive the Ten Commandment.
I wished to follow Moses’ footprints to climb this mount on which God once came down.

Our hotel (Catherine Plaza Resort) is located at piedmont and you can see the breathtaking Mount Sini inside the resort.

The entrance looked not bad, right?
But the room is so so.
Unfortunately, the air condition in my room didn’t function well.
The breeze in the night made outside cooler than inside.
But this resort is the best hotel in this neighborhood, so be grateful!

Three O’ clock in the afternoon, the sun was shinning.
We arrived at the entrance of Mounts Sini.
To my surprise, there was a security station and they have to check our bags one by one!
After passing the station, the team of camels were waiting for us.

We bumped along the rough mountain road for half an hour.

After I got used to the rhythm of bumping, I couldn’t help but taking photos on the camel.

This is Mounts Sini, like a “flame mountain”.

I think that I’ve got a crash on Mounts Sini.
It’s wild and mysterious.

No forests, no streams, no lovely deers, no artificial facilities, there was only nature in our sight.
That was Mounts Sini!

Intensive Mandarin Tuition Course (II)

August 25, the Sabbath day
We’ve got two four visitors joining us.

Shia Shia (the girl in white T-shirt and jeans) and her friends lived this neighborhood.
They attended the hymnal evangelism on August 20.
We told her about out mandarin course and she was very interested.

Here she was!
She also brought two girls with her on August 25 and attended our Sabbath service.

She is a diligent and smart student.
She learned very fast and her pronunciation was excellent!

The next day, Shia Shia attended the class and completed the whole course.
On the day we were leaving Manila, she came to church to saw us off.
Besides, she even sent all the teachers gifts.
I was really touched.
Hope to see you again, Shia Shia, and keep practicing Mandarin!

The other visitor was Rick, a nice gentleman and a Christian.
He also came to our hymnal evangelism in the church yard.

After the hymnal evangelism, we invited him in and had a chat with him.
He planned to work in China after a few months, so he was also interested in Mandarin.
Of course, we invited him to join our Mandarin course.

That was Rick.
He came to Manila church for Mandarin course and also attended the Sabbath service.
I hope the Mandarin couse could be helpful to him, especially he will go to China for work.

What could they learn in only three days?
Three days is too short to learn a language!
Yes, indeed.
But only one day is definitely enough to learn how to intruduce yourself in Mandarin.
Actually, only a couples hours was enough for them.
They already learned how to introduce themselves and memorized this short speech.

Yes, even 7-year-old boy could intruduce himself after a couple hours class.

We will come back next year and there will be Mandarin tuition course again.
The classroom will be in Manila True Jesus Church.

Intensive Mandarin Tuition Course (I)

Since August 24 to August 26, we held an intensive Mandarin tuition course in Manila church for three days.
Actually, we had taught Mandarin for three weeks in May.

This time, we are going to review those lesions.It’s free of charge and everyone is invited!

9:00AM, August 24
Before I was going to start our first class, 7-year-old Henoche was waving at someone on the street.
It was Joshua, a playmate of Henoche
Henoche sprang up and rushed to Joshua (the one in white shirt) and invited him to join us.

We reviewed the lessons of greetings, appreciation, apology, shopping….etc.

And then,the students were divided into groups and played skits in Mandarin.

Even kids could directed and played an skit by themselves.
The girls were playing” Visiting Chinese Friends”.
I was astonished at their performance.Oh!They are so talented!

2007.8.14 Hymnal fellowship at Philadelphia school

Oct.14, 21 members of Joy Scout from Taiwan visited Philadelphia school and had a hymanal fellowship in the morning.
We all had a good time!

Most of the members of Joy Scout are colledge students and some of them are young teachers

About 65 students attended this fellowship.

There were several wonderful hymns,sing-a-long, skits……
Joy Scout members praised the Lord by their voice, dancing, and talent for music.
Jesus touched their hearts with love and they tried to share this feeling to the whole world.

James played saxophone and we were all enchanted at this moment.

After the performance, we had group discussion and made new friends.

And then, we started to play games together.

This morning, we prepared our lunch by ourselves.
That’s hand-made rice roll!

We are so lucky,because dear Ms.Lydia C. Lao also prepared lunch for us.
It was so delicious and we loved it!

Joy Scout gave an appreciation to Ms.Lydia C. Lao.
She is such a nice lady!
We made many new friends and we hope to visit Philadelphia school again!

2007.6.17 We caught the big scorpion in the sky

That night, we caught the big scorpion bullying around in the night sky.

My husband and I brought all the equipment for star observation.
We came to a parking lot at Guanzihling landscape area
It was very dark in the neighborhood and there was only a streetlight far away.
It was a great spot for observing stars.

Check it out!
It was Scorpius!
It seemed to be the king of southeastern sky.
In the middle of Scorpius, there was a flamed-red heart,the Antares.
Just stare at it, I almost could sense its heart beat.
Although it was not the only star with warm and red light, there was no other star as beautiful as it.
This ruby was the only star whose starlight could compete with Mars.

In old Greek legend, it was the scorpion which killed the famous hunter, Orion.
After Orion died, the great hunter became the Orion.
As for the scorpion, it arose to the sky and became the Scorpius in memory of its achievement.

The bright star nearby was Jupiter, the biggest planet in the solar system.
In this month, Jupiter was very close to Scorpius.
Easy to find!

It’s urgent!
Please pray for Noemi!

Remember Noemi?
The sweet girl who saw two visions during her prayer.
If you forget or know nothing about her,please refer to this article

She has a problem now.

On June 15, I received an e-mail from Noemi who was very anxiety.
Her new school opened and she had a whole new environment and classmates.
She felt a sense of strangeness and lots of pressure.

Besides, she is going to have an exam on June 23.
This exam is very important to her because it’s about scholarship.
If she can win the scholarship, it will be a great deal of help to her family.

She wrote a letter and asked me to pray for her.
So, anyone who is reading this article please pray for her together!
