Welcome to Manila Cinema
五月 23, 2007 at 10:37 pm | Posted in Mandarin Tuition Course | 2個回應I gave a lesson in Chinese dialoge.
Since May16,I asked the students to put on a play in Chinese.
They have to act out the scripts with invented storylines which were in Chinese.
So,welcome to Manila cinema!!
(Press the red words below to continue……)
I divided students into several groups and they got ten minutes to prepare their plays and practice.

On jeepney! How cute……
Kids are even more creative than adults!

Students also made their stage properties!

Oh!Bro.Eric and Bro.Reggie!
They were demonstrating personal evangelism in Chinese.
I never taught them such dialogue which involved personal evangelism.
They consulted the textbook or asked for help from other teachers.
They were so earnest in studying Chinese and they also set a good example for other students.

I was so surprised at their ambition in learning Chinese.
They wanted to learn more!
At the beginning,I only expected to hear those sentences I’ve taught in class.
The lessons I’ve taught were very simple and were about greetings, appreciation, apology and shopping.
However, they borrowed textbook from me because they would like to challenge themselves.
Some of their plays were about ordering in restaurant, making reservations at the hotel, personal evangelism….etc.
I didn’t think they could make it but they did.
They accomplished “mission impossible “already.
Although their pronunciation was not perfect,it did not matter at all.
Because they can improve their pronunciation by repeated practice.
This was very comforting to me that my students already had the ability of studying on their own!
Basic is the most important thing!
Thank to teacher Lois who taught Pin-yin,she helped all students build firm foundations in learning Chinese.
Every student learned that she was a very strict teacher.
If you are lazy in her class, then you’ll be in trouble!
Let’s see this photo which can explain everything.
It was self-studying in the evening.
Even Bro.Eric and his wife Sis.jenny studied so hard and were busy at their assignments.
Teacher Lois always checks students’ assignment word by word.

Although the Chinese tuition course was over,I know students can learn Chinese by themselves.
Well,I guess we can go back to Taiwan now.
I’m so proud of my students!
